Smart Categories

Taskitos automatically organizes your tasks by when they're due. No manual sorting required.

The Five Categories

Today

Tasks due today (from midnight to 11:59 PM in your timezone).

Focus here first. These are your immediate priorities. Overdue tasks also appear here with a red indicator.

This Week

Tasks due within the next 7 days (excluding today).

Review these regularly to plan your week. Tasks automatically move to "Today" when their due date arrives.

This Month

Tasks due within 8-30 days from now.

These are on the horizon. Check them weekly to ensure nothing sneaks up on you.

Later

Tasks due more than 30 days from now, or tasks with no due date.

Future tasks and "someday" items live here. They'll automatically surface as their due dates approach.

Needs Review

Tasks that have been missed and rescheduled 5+ times.

These tasks need your attention. Consider whether to complete them, delegate them, or remove them entirely.

How Auto-Sorting Works

When you create or update a task, Taskitos automatically places it in the right category based on its due date:

Due DateCategory
Overdue or todayToday
Tomorrow - 7 daysThis Week
8-30 daysThis Month
31+ days or no dateLater

Timezone Matters

Categories are calculated based on your timezone setting. "Today" means today in your timezone, not UTC. Make sure your timezone is set correctly in Settings.

Recommended Daily Flow

  1. Morning: Check "Today" - Review what's due today. Add any new tasks that come to mind.
  2. Mid-day: Work on Focus Tasks - Add up to 3 tasks to your Focus section. Complete these before anything else.
  3. Evening: Quick Review - Check tomorrow's tasks in "This Week". Plan ahead for any big items.
  4. Weekly: Review "This Month" - Once a week, scan upcoming tasks to avoid surprises.

Don't Over-Plan

You don't need to check every category every day. Trust the system - tasks will surface at the right time, and reminders will keep you on track.
