Smart Notifications

Taskitos uses escalating reminders to ensure you never miss a task. The more overdue, the more persistent the reminders become.

How Notifications Work

When a task becomes due, Taskitos begins sending notifications. The frequency depends on whether the task is starred.

Escalation Timeline (Unstarred Tasks)

Time After DueWhat Happens
Due timeFirst notification sent
+30 minutesSecond notification
+2 hoursThird notification
+6 hoursFourth notification
Next dayTask auto-reschedules + notification

Starred Task Frequency

Starred tasks get more frequent reminders because they're marked as urgent:

Task TypeReminder Frequency
Starred + High PriorityEvery 30 minutes
Starred + Medium PriorityEvery 1 hour
Starred + Low PriorityEvery 2 hours

Control the Intensity

Use the "Nag Intensity" setting to control maximum emails per task: Light (3), Normal (6), or Aggressive (10).

Email Notifications

Email notifications are beautiful, mobile-friendly, and actionable. You can complete or snooze tasks without opening the app.

What's in Each Email

  • Task title and description
  • Due date and time (in your timezone)
  • Priority indicator (color-coded)
  • Tags associated with the task
  • "Complete" button - marks task as done instantly
  • Snooze options - 2h, 4h, 8h, 1d, 2d, 3d, 4d, 5d, 1w

One-Click Actions

The complete and snooze links work instantly - no login required. They use secure, cryptographically signed tokens that can't be forged.

Quiet Hours

Taskitos respects your sleep. Set quiet hours to prevent notifications during specific times (default: 10 PM - 7 AM).

How Quiet Hours Work

  • • No email notifications sent during quiet hours
  • • No push notifications sent during quiet hours
  • • Notifications resume when quiet hours end
  • • Overdue tasks from quiet hours get notified in the morning

Tip

Configure quiet hours in Settings → Notification Preferences. Make sure your timezone is set correctly for accurate timing.
